Florida in August = lots of rain. Usually we just have a daily afternoon shower, but today was dark and dreary all workday long, but it cleared up just in time to go home and take pictures! I've been majorly jonesing for cooler weather, so I decided to comfort myself with an outfit full of fall colored goodness. This particular shade of orange makes me think of the colors used in the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. I love the rich accents they use for clothing: russet, pumpkin, chocolate brown, emerald green. And Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy...swoon!
I know I haven't been doing the blogging thing for very long, but I've been questioning myself lately about whether or not this is something that I really should do. I really like the idea of better understanding my figure, and (hopefully) helping other girls struggling with size and weight along the way. I know I can't be the only person out there that is bigger, but still wants to take pride in their appearance and look beautiful. Yet at the same time, I hate taking pictures of myself and often do NOT like what I see in photographs.
Yesterday, a friend of mine and I were talking about a mutual friend who started a fashion blog back in January. My friend was saying how she thought the whole idea was a bit self-serving and how she really didn't care one way or another what this girl was wearing and though the whole blog thing was just "too much." This is the very reaction I fear receiving in creating my own blog. For lack of a better word, I've felt a bit narcissistic (and worry that others will feel the same way), going around posing for pictures and writing all about myself on here. But, yet, I look at other blogs like Franish and Putting Me Together and I don't think these ladies are self absorbed or narcisssitic! I think they're fun and quirky and very brave to put themselves out there. So, questioning or not, I'm going to keep on with this journey. Even if I'm the only person who really reads this blog, it will have been worth it for the self discovery alone. Now, enough of the rainy day blues, off to make chocolate chip cookies, watch a movie and have snuggles with the husband and pup!
