Hi, I'm Erin!
I'm an early 30s, still somewhat newly married, lady who loves clothes, shoes, chocolate chip cookies and Jesus. I'm obsessed with the color teal, cardigans and anything with strips or polka dots. I'm an avid reader. Right now, my current author obsessions are Sarah Addison Allen and Maeve Binchy. I love to knit, which is a bit of an oxymoron in Florida, I'm addicted to Pinterest and I have a serious girl crush on Audrey Hepburn.
I married my best friend, Matt, in November of 2011. The newest love of my life, my sweet baby girl, Aubrey, was born May 2014. With our Westie, MacGregor (a.k.a. Mackie), we make a happy family of four. With the addition of a newborn, we spend most weekends taking care of baby, attempting to watch movies, or taking advantage of the beach that's (almost) on our doorstep.
I've lived in Florida for almost nine years, but I still consider Tennessee home. By day, I work in marketing for a regional campus of a major university. I pretty much have to best co-workers ever, a gorgeous view, and I get to work indirectly with students and education. I've always said I wanted to be in school forever, and I'd say that this fits the bill.
I made my first attempt at blogging about a year ago because I saw a need for fashion for the more average girl. Kind of like the baby bear that was "just right", not skinny, not plus-size, but somewhere in the middle. However I very quickly learned if you lack passion for what you're doing and writing, the hole blog thing will quickly fizzle out. I dabbled in the blogosphere, but then put it aside once I found out that I was pregnant with baby girl because I wanted to focus all my attention on her and not on a fashion blog. However, since my daughter was born, I've been thinking about body image and wanting my daughter to have a strong sense of self and to love her body, whether she's a size 2 or 20. I have struggled with body image my whole life and it is not something I wish for my daughter. I think in order to insure that my daughter has a positive body image, I need to cultivate a positive body image myself. I'm hoping this blog will be not only a creative outlet, but I way to learn to love my own shape and in turn teach my daughter how to love herself.
I'd love to hear from you, so please don't hesitate to leave a comment, or e-mail me at tealandpolkadots (@) gmail.com.
